Kerr Lake Country Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Henderson, North Carolina.
Kerr Lake Country Club first opened for play in 1966. The course was designed by Ricci Boni.
The original course is the back nine holes. The front nine was added later to make the existing eighteen hole layout. Because the two nines were built at different times, the greens on the front nine are smaller than the greens on the back. The Kerr Lake Country Club Golf Course is a parkland style course with tree lined fairways over rolling hills, routed through a residential community, but not many homes on the course. The course is predominantly flat, but there are some hills that can cause uneven lies. There are two ponds that come into play on four holes, and other water hazards affect holes #14 and #16. Green-side sand bunkers have been added to fourteen of the eighteen holes, many of which are difficult to get out of.
Kerr Lake Country Club plays to a par of 72. From the back tees the course measures 6,430 yards. The front tees play to a distance of 4,799 yards. The longest hole is #16 is a 524 yard par-5. The shortest hole at Kerr Lake is #8, a 162 yard par-3.

The owners are having financial difficulties, so the course isn't being kept up as well as it should. The new clubhouse has been half-finished for the last six months. The greens are in decent condition, but the fairways and rough are scruffier than I'd like. Still, for only $15 (after 3 p.m., walking), it's hard to complain too much.

The fairways are scruffy now because it's midwinter. They're in much better shape the rest of the year. The new clubhouse/pro shop is still under construction, so the amenities are limited at the moment. Has a driving range and a putting/chipping green. It's not a great course, but for the money it's a pretty good deal.

We like the course enough to buy a house on the 16th fairway. Voted the best greens fee course in the area the last few years. When other greens go south due to summer drought, ours stay very playable thanks to a Superintendant that's been there for over 35 years. There are homes around the course but well off the fairways. Like most golf courses they are in financial difficulty but are holding their own. Even opened a new Pro Shop around March, 2011. Known for our white squirrels and the occasional white deer, Kerr Lake is s fairly challenging course with very lovely scenery.
